The English Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, if not the best league in the world. There are so many different things to looking forward to in a Premier League season. For example the battles between the top 6 teams. We’re heading towards the third Premier League weekend and it’s the third time we’re going to see a battle between two top 6 teams. Liverpool will play at home against Arsenal on Saturday evening. Another thing to really looking forward to is the battle for the golden boot. Last season three players shared the golden boot at the end of the season. Liverpool players Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah scored 22 goals, just like Arsenal player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. I won’t be surprised if we’re going to see another shared golden boot at the end of this season. In this article we’re discussing some of the candidates for this trophy.
Man City players Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero
Raheem Sterling is on fire from the start of this season. He started with a hat-trick against West Ham United, followed by one goal in the home match against Tottenham Hotspur. His teammate Sergio Aguero scored one goal each. Aguero is the real goalscorer in Man City’s squad, but the way Sterling has developed of the last couple of seasons, makes him a serious contender for the 2019-2020 Premier League golden boot.
Arsenal strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Arsenal have got a serious frontline with strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Arsenal scored three goals so far this season, one by Lacazette and 2 by Aubameyang. Both players are deadly in front of goal and I can see them scoring a massive amount of goals this season.
Liverpool players Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane
We can’t forget to mention two of last seasons golden boot winners. Both Liverpool players are really quick and have an amazing shot. I consider Liverpool as one of the two top teams in the Premier League this season, which will lead to scoring many goals over the course of this season. Roberto Firmino will score a bunch, but Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are likely to be the biggest goalscorers of their team again this season.
Outsiders Antony Martial and Teemu Pukki
Antony Martial got his number 9 back after Romelu Lukaku’s departure and with his number also his place in the centre of the park. He gets the trust of his manager as a striker and paid this back by scoring a goal in each of his first two matches this season. There is a lack of depth in Man United’s squad, which will give Martial loads of minutes in the Premier League and loads of goals too. Teemu Pukki is a true outsider, playing for the recently promoted Norwich City, but he’s on fire at the moment. The Finnish striker scored a goal against Liverpool and 3 against Newcastle United. If you can score against Liverpool, you can score against every other Premier League team too, so I expect to see a whole lot of goals from him during the course of this season.
