Arsenal Nearly Sign Cristiano Ronaldo


Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has revealed that Arsenal missed out an opportunity to sign Ronaldo when the superstar was in sporting back in 2003, Arsenal were short of finance as they were keen on to build Emirates Stadium.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo move to Manchester United but Mendes has written in his new book that at one stage Ronaldo was going to Arsenal but due to Emirates stadium they left out the transfer move.

Jorge Mendes also revealed the key to this transfer was Alex Ferguson.

“He told me that Cristiano was going to play at least 50 per cent of the games for Manchester United and that’s what I wanted to hear.”

“That’s why Cristiano went to Manchester United.”

Arsene Wenger also said earlier that it was a biggest regret that he was not able to sign Ronaldo.
